Placid paddling, solitary sojourning, serene sunsets- Snowbank Lake offers its guests myriad memorable experiences, with or without a fishing pole. Located halfway into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Snowbank has some of the most enjoyable water in the area.
Those bringing their own watercraft should know that Snowbank has a 25 HP restriction on its northern waters. While this won’t affect your experience at or around Wilderness Bay, anyone with a larger motor will be limited to the southern parts of Snowbank. Those who have a 25 HP motor (or smaller) are free to venture anywhere, provided they’ve been issued an exempt permit by Wilderness Bay Lodge.
