Q: How do we get to Wilderness Bay Lodge?

A: Wilderness Bay is a water access resort. Once you arrive at our private landing, use the telephone to call for your shuttle across the lake. For specifics, click here.

Q: Is there a check-in time for arrival?

A: Please plan to arrive at the Wilderness Bay between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday. Please plan to depart Wilderness Bay by 10am.

Q: What should we bring (what items might we need that we won’t find in our cabins)?

A: Bath/beach towels and food for the week. We do recommend that you bring layers of clothing and any personal items you’d like for vacation.

Q: What will the weather be like when we visit?

A: Great question! Best that you prepare for any of our variable conditions. Please visit this page for weather averages in Ely, MN.

Q: Can we bring our dog (cat, bird, favorite rodent)?

A: No. In order to maintain the private wilderness setting for all guests, pets are not allowed.

Q: What happens if we need to cancel our reservation?

A: Deposits are non refundable and may not be transferred.  If your reservation is cancelled with less than a 90 day notice, future reservations will require payment in-full at booking.

Q: Can I bring my own boat or canoe?

A: Yes. Please visit the MN DNR page for more information on boating in Minnesota. Please also note that Snowbank Lake is a BWCA lake. Motors must be 25hp or less on the northern portion of the lake. Permits for boating on Snowbank are available at the lodge.

Q: Will my cellphone work at Wilderness Bay?

A: Not guaranteed; we are located in a remote wilderness area.
