Q: How do we get to Wilderness Bay Lodge?

A: Wilderness Bay is a water access resort. Once you arrive at our private landing, use the telephone to call for your shuttle across the lake. Please visit our Around page for more details.

Q: Is there a check-in time for arrival?

A: Please plan to arrive at the Wilderness Bay landing after 2pm (but before dark). Please plan to depart Wilderness Bay by 10am!

Q: What should we bring (what items might we need that we won’t find in our cabins)?

A: Bath/beach towels and food for the week. We do recommend that you bring layers of clothing and any personal items you’d like for vacation.

Q: What will the weather be like when we visit?

A: Great question! Best that you prepare for any of our variable conditions. Please visit this page for weather averages in Ely, MN.

Q: Can we bring our dog (cat, bird, favorite rodent)?

A: No. In order to maintain the private wilderness setting for all guests, pets are not allowed.

Q: What happens if we need to cancel our reservation?

A: Deposits are refundable if a reservation is cancelled with a ninety day notice. If a reservation is cancelled with less than 90 days notice and we are able to rebook the cabin for that time period the deposit will be returned. Returned deposits are subject to a $75 processing fee.  If we are unable to rebook the reservation you are financially responsible for the full amount of the reservation.  We cannot issue a refund for early departures or no shows.
